September 8, 2017 1:03 pmOn Thursday, the inaugural DTD 1000 was held at the Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) club in Nottingham, with the tournament attracting 274 players, and 228 re-entries resulting in a prize pool £2,000 higher than its original £500,000 guarantee. By Sunday night, the event was in the bag, with Timothy Chung managing to best the field, including Mark Kelsall heads-up, to claim the victory, and a top prize of £78,700 ($101,688).
Chung’s biggest score to date comes a little over one month since he took down the £550 MPN Poker Tour Main Event for £29,900 ($38,958), with the pro having now amassed live earnings of $440,766 since his first live cash in 2009. Furthermore, $158,208 of that amount has been won in 2017 alone.
The £1,100 buy-in tournament saw a number of notable pros book money finishes, including Roberto Romanello in 44th (£2,000), Ashraf Wahid in 42nd (£2,000), Michael Kane in 34th (£2,250), David Vamplew in 26th (£4,100), Ben Jones in 11th (£10,200), and Tom Hall in 9th (£12,200).
Tim Chung then entered the final table third in chips, behind table leader William Bennet and Mark Kelsall. He subsequently added further to his stack by eliminating Colin Gillon in 7th, and by the time just three players remained Mark Kelsall, Tim Chung, and Chun Law agreed to spilt the money £66,020, £61,500 and £57,480 respectively, while leaving £15,000 for the ultimate winner, and a further £5,000 for the runner-up.
Kelsall then sent Chun Law to the rail, leaving Chung and Kelsall to battle it out for the title, with the two players fairly even in chips. Following a tense heads-up affair, the deciding hand was played with Chung (A-K) moving all-in on a 6-A-2-5-A board, and Kelsall making the call holding a dominated A-3 hand.
Final Table Results:
1: Tim Chung £76,500*
2: Mark Kelsall £71,020*
3: Chun Law £57,480*
4: William Bennet £34,700
5: Justin Sevilla £25,000
6: Chuck Khuu £20,000

The next DTD 1000 runs from October 3rd to 8th, with online qualifiers available at partypoker.
Over the weekend the Dusk Till Dawn poker club in Nottingham hosted a number of superb live poker tournaments, the highlight being the £150 DTD Deepstack that guaranteed a prize pool of £50,000. The man who walked away with the lion's share of this huge prize was Timothy Chung who picked up £15,372.50 for his efforts.
This is bar far Chung's largest live cash to date, in fact this score is almost four-times the size of his previous three cashes combined! Prior to this result, Chung's last cash – which was also his largest – came at the £1,000,000 guaranteed UKIPT Nottingham held at Dusk Till Dawn. On that occasion Chung picked up £3,400 for his 33rd place finish but that has now been dwarfed by this win.
There were 235 entries into this event and that meant the tournament featured an overlay of almost £15,000 making it even better value for the players; if not for the DTD management team. The £50,000 prize pool was shared out among the top 27 finishers, a min-cash being worth £300 and a final table appearance locking up at least £946.

The unfortunate bubble boy was Ian Edwards whilst Matt Russell was the unfortunate soul to narrowly miss out on a final table, busting in 10th place.

At the final table it was Duncan Taylor who was the first player to be eliminated, followed by Colin Marks, Zaheer Ahmed, Jeremy Cook, Harish Sahnan, Gerald Mcinally and Ian Roberts. Their demises left Robin Watkins and Chung to battle it out heads-up for the title, a fight that was eventually won be Chung.
This coming weekend the Dusk Till Dawn club plays host to the APAT European Championship of Amateur Poker and we will be bringing you reports on that once the results have been announced.
